Your details
Combat standard (350 pts, 21 combat MOSs) is scored on the sex-neutral scale. Select it if it applies to you.
Note: the Combat standard always uses the sex-neutral (male) scoring scale — your Male/Female selection does not change combat scores.

How AFT scoring works
The AFT has five events, each scored 0–100 points for a maximum total of 500. You must score at least 60 points in every single event — failing one event fails the whole test, no matter how high your total is.
To pass you need 300 points total under the general standard, or 350 under the combat standard (for the 21 combat arms MOSs, scored on a sex-neutral scale). Scores are normed by ten age groups (17–21 through 62+) and by sex.
AFT events
| Event | What is measured |
|---|---|
| 3-Repetition Maximum Deadlift | Heaviest 3-rep lift (pounds) |
| Hand-Release Push-Up | Correct reps in 2 minutes |
| Sprint-Drag-Carry | Total time (m:ss) |
| Plank | Time held (m:ss) |
| 2-Mile Run | Total time (m:ss) |
Worked example: a 22–26-year-old man enters a 240 lb deadlift (79 pts), 45 hand-release push-ups (88 pts), a 2:05 sprint-drag-carry (70 pts), a 2:30 plank (80 pts), and a 15:30 2-mile run (90 pts). Total: 407/500 — a PASS under the general standard (300 needed, 60+ per event).
Frequently asked questions
Is there an AFT calculator for females?
Yes — select Female above and the calculator uses the Army’s official women’s scoring columns for your age group.
Does the calculator adjust scores by age?
Yes. The Army scores the AFT across ten age groups from 17–21 to 62+. Pick yours and every event is scored on the right column.
What is the AFT combat standard?
Soldiers in 21 combat arms MOSs must score 350 total on a sex-neutral (male) scale, with at least 60 points per event. Toggle Combat above if it applies to you.
I’m on a permanent profile. What about alternate events?
Check the profile box in the calculator and pick your alternate aerobic event — 2.5-mile walk, 12 km bike, 1 km swim, or 5 km row. A GO is worth 60 points, a NO-GO is 0.
What deadlift do I need for 100 points?
It depends on your age and sex — for example, 340 lb for men 17–21 and 220 lb for women 17–21. Enter your lift above to see your exact score.
Did AFT scoring change in 2026?
The scoring tables are unchanged — the current scale was approved 1 May 2025 and is still in effect. What changed in 2026: combat-standard enforcement dates arrived, and the Army replaced the body-fat tape test with a waist-to-height ratio standard.
